7 Rules for A Delicious Barbecue

How your barbecue turns out, either successful or not, depends on the steps you take right from the beginning. Here are some tips on how to make sure your barbecue is delicious while using a grill.

  1. Do things right from the lighting of the fire. Ensure you start with lighting the fire since it might take time until it is ready to start cooking. In between the time, be preparing your food for cooking. In your efforts to light the fire easily, you might be tempted to use flammable liquids such as alcohol, but this is not advisable, as it is dangerous and could speed up the fire, whereas you need time to get the food ready.Ā
  2. As you have witnessed, most people use firewood while cooking. This might be a cheaper option for many people, but there are things to observe. Ensure that the wood you use is dry. Also, pick the best wood quality because it will make the roasting richer.Ā Ā
  3. After you have added your food to the grill for roasting, you will need to check whether your meat is ready. You should know that cutting the meat to see if it is cooked inside is not a good habit. When you do that, all cooking juices will tend to drip off, and the areas you cut will become dry, especially for pieces with less fat like the steak.Ā
  4. Never put frozen meat on the grill. Defrosting your meat is a very crucial step while grilling. Many people will make a mistake and forget to defrost their meat. Remember to defrost your meat overnight, get it ready for roasting. Not defrosting could cause your meat cook at different temperatures. AskUSDA (2017) says that grilling frozen food will take 50% more time, and defrosted food will cook more evenly.Ā Ā
  5. Properly regulate heat. Avoid lowering the grill so much to speed up the cooking process. You could end up spoiling the barbecue or burning the meat, which will ruin the whole event.Ā
  6. Use a wooden board in place of a metallic one. Some people might think metal trays will keep food warm for longer, but wooden boards help keep your food warm for longer. A portable grill is much better for such work.Ā Ā
  7. Grilling is a whole day event, so do not be in a hurry to finish. Hurrying the food could cause the burning of your food and affect the meat's tenderness and tastiness. Never rush your barbecue, and you will get an excellent result.Ā
